Sterek AU: Derek has been Stiles’ bodyguard for two years and there’s always been a tension between them. Just when Derek finally thought they were getting somewhere, the press got hold of some photos of them in what looked like an intimate moment (unfortunately for Derek looks could be deceiving). He expected Stiles to laugh it off like he had with so many other scandals but Stiles flipped out. Next thing Derek knew he was getting a call from his boss “strongly suggesting” that he use up some of his holiday days and take a leave of absence. The next time he sees Stiles he’s coming out on national TV. It’s a bold step for Stiles and Derek should be proud, he is proud, but it stings to know that it wasn’t his sexuality Stiles was ashamed of. Seemingly it was just Derek. 

#i reckon even in a situation where stiles was coming out and was absolutely terrified#he would still take the opportunity to mess with the audience a bit#of course what derek doesn’t know is that stiles flipped out because the story had painted derek as some piece on the side that stiles hid a#and he realised what his lies were doing to his and derek’s relationship (not that they even really had one)#so he finally resolved to come out#and he didn’t want the media to keep harrassing derek in the mean time so he asked his boss to switch him out for a while#completely logical right?#except he is big dumb boy who is stupic with feelings and can’t communicate#so he forgot to tell derek any of this#and while he was prepping for their future together#derek was sulking at home because he essentially got fired by his maybe sorta boyfriend#*sigh*#dumb boys are dumb
